Fin-Aid - GOTR

Financial Aid

It is our mission to offer our programming to all girls who desire to participate, regardless of their financial status. Families who are unable to pay the program registration fees will be awarded financial assistance based on their need. Our policy is simple: if you have a need, you qualify! The approval process is included in the online and paper registration process.

In the past year, GOTR Greater Tampa Bay Tampa provided more than $80,000 in scholarships.

A monthly (3-payment) payment plan option is also available and can be customized!

Attendance Policy

It is critically important to the experiential learning process, group dynamics and each girl’s program experience that all girls participate in all practices during a season. Any girl who is absent for more than four practices (excluding absences relating to COVID-19) during one season may no longer be eligible to participate in Girls on the Run.

For more information about our Attendance Policy, please reach out to us at girlsontheruntampabay@gmail.com and/or (813) 832-2826

Refund Policy

No refunds will be offered this season, with the exception of teams that are cancelled prior to their first session and girls that withdraw prior to the team's first session and staff (not coaches) are notified 24 hours in advance of first session.

Should Girls on the Run Greater Tampa Bay, due to public emergency or necessity, legal restrictions, labor disputes, strikes, boycotts, acts of God, pandemic, epidemic, outbreak, crisis, governmental action or other similar reasons, including, but not limited to, to SARS-CoV-2 or any mutations thereof that cause COVID-19 or any other similar illnesses beyond the control and without the fault of Girls on the Run Greater Tampa Bay, be unable to perform any of its obligations hereunder, Girls on the Run Greater Tampa Bay shall not be liable to participants or parents.

The registration fee per girl includes:

  • Twenty 75-90 minute sessions led by trained volunteer coaches.
  • Curriculum, program journal and lesson materials.
  • A healthy snack at each session.
  • Official GOTR or Heart & Sole T-shirt and water bottle.
  • 5K Registration fee.
  • 5K Medal.

Our program fee is $225, which represents the full cost to deliver the program. We have set up additional tiered pricing for our sites, depending on their level of need, ranging from $55 to $170 per girl. Regardless of your site's tier, all families can request additional financial assistance! We also offer payment plan options to pay your fee in three installments over the course of the season.

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are SO MUCH MORE than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Our program registration fee includes all lesson materials, including curriculum, activity sheets, lap counters and more, a program t-shirt, a bib entry into the season-ending 5K, a finisher's medal, a program water bottle and a healthy snack at every practice.

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

Don't let cost stop you from participating! We are committed to making Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole accessible to all who want to particpate! Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, program scholarships are available to any family who needs it, and we can also provide appropriate running shoes and attire if necessary. The online registration form will walk you through a few questions to find the fee that is right for your family and our staff is here to support you every step of the way.

When does the 10-week season begin?

Practices will begin the week of September 19. The culminating event will be the 5K on Saturday, December 3. More information will be shared by our staff and by your girl's coaches once the season begins!

Do girls need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! Since most of our teams fill up quickly, if your girl will be unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can, and consider joining us in a future season when she can enjoy the entire program.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on generous donors in order to provide more than $30,000 in program scholarships for families in need. Click here to sponsor a participant this season.
