It is critically important to the experiential learning process, group dynamics and each girl’s program experience that all girls participate in all practices during a season. Any girl who is absent for more than four (4) practices (excluding absences relating to COVID-19) during one season may no longer be eligible to participate in Heart & Sole.

Registration Fees

Building confidence and setting young girls down the path of a healthy lifestyle is PRICELESS! However, there are real costs associated with operating a non-profit organization and delivering the Girls on the Run program to approximately 1,000 girls in the Greater Tampa Bay area each year.

The registration fee per girl includes:

  • Twenty 75-90 minute sessions led by trained volunteer coaches.
  • Curriculum, program journal and lesson materials.
  • A healthy snack at each session.
  • Official GOTR or Heart & Sole T-shirt and water bottle.
  • 5K Registration fee.
  • 5K Medal.
Registration Fee Guide

Our program fee is $225, which represents the full cost to deliver the program. We have set up additional tiered pricing for our sites, depending on their level of need, ranging from $55 to $225 per girl. Regardless of your site's tier, all families can request additional financial assistance! We also offer payment plan options to pay your fee in three installments over the course of the season.

Registration Type Price
Full-Price Registration  $225 - $55; based on percentage of students at the school on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
Payment Plan
  • 3-Payment Plan (monthly)
    • 34% due at registration
    • 33% due in 30 days from registration
    • 33% due in 60 days from registration

Individual Financial Assistance

Calculated based on household income and number of people in the household. Additional adjustment available; eligible for payment plan, too!
COVID-19 Information

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are SO MUCH MORE than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Our program registration fee includes all lesson materials, including curriculum, activity sheets, lap counters and more, a program t-shirt, a bib entry into the season-ending 5K, a finisher's medal, a program water bottle and a healthy snack at every practice.

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

Don't let cost stop you from participating! We are committed to making Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole accessible to all who want to particpate! Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, program scholarships are available to any family who needs it, and we can also provide appropriate running shoes and attire if necessary. The online registration form will walk you through a few questions to find the fee that is right for your family and our staff is here to support you every step of the way.

When does the 10-week season begin?

Practices will begin the week of September 19. The culminating event will be the 5K on Saturday, December 3. More information will be shared by our staff and by your girl's coaches once the season begins!

Do girls need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! Since most of our teams fill up quickly, if your girl will be unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can, and consider joining us in a future season when she can enjoy the entire program.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on generous donors in order to provide more than $30,000 in program scholarships for families in need. Click here to sponsor a participant this season.
